To ensure the proper installation, use, and maintenance of your small boat magnetic compass, it is essential to follow these precautions:
Read the Manual: Before proceeding with the installation and use of the YQ-50 series magnetic compass, carefully read and understand the provided manual. Familiarize yourself with the instructions and guidelines to ensure safe and accurate usage.
Mark the Installation Position: Once you have determined the appropriate installation position, mark the direction of the parallel line between the position and the hull keel. This marking ensures correct alignment during installation.
- A-Type Magnetic Compass: The A-Type compass has two notches at the edge. The connecting direction of these notches should be parallel to the direction of the hull keel.
- C-Type Magnetic Compass: On the top of the upper cover of the C-Type compass, there is a raised mark line. This mark line should be parallel to the direction of the hull keel.
- F/H Magnetic Compass: The connecting line of the F/H magnetic compass at the central depression of its bottom support should be parallel to the hull keel.
Proper Orientation: Ensure that the pointer of the magnetic compass is facing the user, and the other magnetic compass is facing away from the bow. This orientation ensures accurate readings and proper functionality.
Avoid Magnetic Interference: It is crucial to install the compass in a location where there are no steel structures or objects with a magnetic field in the vicinity. Such objects include power supplies, motors, and other magnetic equipment. Install the compass securely using screws according to the compass type.
- Type A Compass: Suitable for installation on a flat plane, fixed with screws.

LED Lighting Equipment: The magnetic compass comes equipped with LED lighting equipment for night lighting. Connect the provided wires to a DC12V/24V power supply. Pay attention to the polarity of the connections: the red wire should be connected to the positive pole of the power supply, and the black wire should be connected to the negative pole.

Fine Adjustment: The YQ-50 series magnetic compass includes a copper adjusting tool for fine-tuning the direction and balance during installation. The adjustment process should be carried out by qualified personnel. Adjust the two notched copper rods located in the lower half of the magnetic compass for optimal performance.
